This award will go to the utility that has introduced an initiative which has had a measurable effect on the improvement of their customer management. The project should showcase innovative projects in the field of customer service, customer engagement, customer education and customer behavior linked to a smart metering project.

Smart Newcomer of the Year Award
This award will go to a company which has proven itself as successful “newcomer” to the industry. This can be in terms of innovative products/ solutions which has been launched to the market, a company with a future oriented vision and strategy, helping the industry to bring their smart strategies in practice!

Innovative Billing 2011 Award
This award will go to a company/ project who have implemented an innovative and effective billing system, using smart metering as a key tool to improve their overall billing process. This can be in terms of real-time rating and billing services, successful customer behavior change programmes, demand response/ dynamic pricing deployments, payment schemes and innovative technologies.

Innovative Technology 2011 Award
This award will go to the company leading the way with an innovative technology, helping the industry to move from a second to third generation market. This can be in terms of smart metering, billing and customer management. We would like to know what step change in standard tools and techniques occurred; whether the initiative can be adopted by the industry as a whole; how it has improved a technique or system; and more.
